You can own the best pressurized shower on the market, but without four walls around it you’re rinsing off in the open at a trailhead or campground. We compared the current shower tents from KingCamp, WolfWise, Ozark Trail and GigaTent using each maker’s own spec sheet and store price; we don’t test them ourselves.
Camping shower tents by the numbers
- Pop-ups pack flat; hub frames pack long. GigaTent’s Pop Up Pod folds to 24 x 24 x 3 in, while KingCamp’s iron-frame MARASUSA Q tents pack into a 111 x 18 x 18 cm (43.7 x 7.1 x 7.1 in) bag, per each maker’s spec sheet.
- Two rooms can weigh 5 lb or 16 lb. GigaTent says its Two Room Pop Up Pod weighs 5 pounds; KingCamp lists the MARASUSA Q Double-Room at 7.3 kg (16.1 lb), more than three times as much.
- WolfWise says its silver-coated tents block up to 98% of UV, on the product pages for its Portable Pop Up and HighPeak R20 models. (Our August version said 60%; WolfWise’s current pages say 98%.)
- Not fire retardant. WolfWise’s FAQ says its pop-up shower tents are not fire retardant, which is why a propane water heater belongs outside the tent.

At 80.7 inches inside, it’s the tallest single-room tent here, with room for a 6-foot-plus camper to stand under a hanging shower bag, and the iron hub frame is stiffer than the spring hoops of the budget pop-ups, so it doesn’t sag against you when the wet fabric gets heavy. The coated 150D Oxford cloth is a heavier fabric than the 190T polyester taffeta most pop-ups use. The trade-offs are weight (13.7 lb) and a long, 43.7-inch packed bag, so it suits a vehicle with cargo space more than a hike-in site. At $39.99, the A10 is the shower tent to buy if you’re not sure you’ll use one every trip. It does the core job (a pop-up frame, a floor-to-roof enclosure, a mesh roof for steam) at a fraction of the KingCamp’s price and weight. The step-up Blazers A20 ($43.99 to $44.99) moves to UPF 50+ and adds a removable rain fly and a portable floor mat, which is worth the extra $4 to $5 if you camp where it rains.
3. WolfWise HighPeak R20 — Tallest Pop-Up for the Money

The R20 is the answer if you want close to the KingCamp’s headroom without its weight or price: 78.74 inches tall for $59.99, in a pop-up that folds flat like the cheaper tents. The attached floor with drain corners is the detail that matters most in use, because a loose floor mat slides around on wet ground. For two rooms, WolfWise’s Warrior K10 ($89.99) zips two tents into a 94.5 x 47.2 x 74.8 in pair.
4. KingCamp MARASUSA Q Double-Room — Best for 2 People and Families

The Ozark Trail is the pick when the trip starts tomorrow: it’s Walmart’s house brand, so you can usually buy it in person, check the fabric and return it in store. At $49.97 it sits between the WolfWise A10 and the R20 on price. Walmart’s listing calls it a 1-person shelter (our August version described a 2-person model), so check the listed dimensions on the shelf box before you buy if you’re tall.
6. GigaTent Pop Up Pod — Best Lightweight and Packable

At $29.99 and 3 inches thick when folded, the Pop Up Pod disappears behind a seat or under a rooftop tent’s ladder in a way none of the bigger shelters can. The trade is space: a 36-inch-square floor and 69 inches of height make it a changing room first and a shower tent second, and a tall camper will duck. Our August version listed it at 74 inches and a 20 x 20 x 2 in pack; those are not GigaTent’s current figures for the adult pod (the 20 x 20 x 2 in pack belongs to the 61-inch Kids Size version).
How to choose a camping shower tent
Check the height before anything else. Interior height ranges from 69 inches (GigaTent Pop Up Pod) to 80.7 inches (KingCamp MARASUSA Q). If you’re over 5 ft 10, a hanging shower head needs the taller tents.
Pop-up or hub frame? Spring-steel pop-ups (WolfWise, GigaTent) fold flat and weigh 4 to 6 lb, but they flex in wind. Iron hub frames (KingCamp MARASUSA Q) are stiffer and taller but weigh 13.7 to 16.1 lb and pack 43.7 inches long.
Match room count to how many people use it at once. One room is fine if only one person showers or changes at a time. A family or a camp with a portable toilet is better served by two rooms.
Keep heat outside. WolfWise says its tents are not fire retardant, and no maker here lists a flame-resistance rating, so a propane water heater stays outside with only the hose going in.
Stake the corners in wind, every time. Every pop-up shower tent here is light enough to catch wind like a sail. Use the stakes and guy ropes, or weight the floor with gear.
